hChapa - The free typing game

UPDATE: Get modern version of hChapa  (HChapa plus).

Visite here to get for free. We only encourage you to download HChapa plus, it is more flexible with additional features.  It is available for Windows and Linux (you don't need to install Java to run HChapa plus).

hChapa is the free Java based typing game for Windows, Linux and Mac OS to improve your typing speed on computer QWERTY keyboard. Java7 (JRE) or newer is enough for this game. 

HOW TO PLAY:

First make sure that the game window is focused on your desktop otherwise your key press will not be detected.

Just select game level (speed) you wish, then choose whether typing game will be for letters, numbers or both (L&N). You can also enable sound effect, just click "S" sound icon. To start game click Start (round button) then observe key values displayed randomly on game stripe in the middle of game interface and type that key as fast as possible. Scoring:

If you type with wrong key you  get negative score (-1), if you don't type you get 0 and if you successfully type with correct key you get +1. From game interface, the first display indicates whether you typed correctly or not. Next display shows current scoring process. At the end of the game, first display will shows you percentage values for your scoring against numbers of possible letters, numbers or both.

HOW TO CHANGE THE GAME LANGUAGE:
The default language is Swahili.
To change to English click: "Faili" then "Mpya" from Menu.
Then tick on "Kiingereza" check box then click "Ndio".
